Because of Covid 19, we all had to come face to face with the harsh reality of mortality. If we were to die tomorrow, would we look back at our lives with regrets? Would we face death with fear or acceptance?

Our guest today is Dr. Ivy Akid. She is a a Palliative care doctor. That means she takes care of patients who are seriously ill, and who are about to die.

In this episode, we discuss

  • What Dr Akid hears from patients who are dying, their dying wishes, their regrets, and their understanding of purpose.

  • And we also discuss why Dr Akid decided go into Palliative Medicine, probably the most bleak medicinal field out there, how her upbringing as an immigrant only child of a widowed mom and being her caretaker shaped her sense of purpose today

  • And finally, if you want to become a doctor one day, hear her tell you what they don't tell you as you're training to become one and she had learned to avoid being burnt out and the pitfalls of perfectionism the hard way.

I hope this episode gives you a different perspective that'll give you more clarity on your journey in being a work in purpose.
